A sculptor’s haven, hiding traces of her love for objects in raw space. Pallares House and Studio is the result of a work inspired by the materiality of Edna Pallares sculptures combined with the necessity to bring adequate light into the different spaces. Composed of three volumes separated each by a courtyard, the project intends to have a surprising spatial sequence, at the time, the limits that contain the space, are rough and allow an introspective feeling, where solemnity is essential for the production of Edna´s work.

Three sisters in the Mediterranean: The project enhances—aiming to exaggerate—the ‘courtyard house character of a summer residence from the sixties on the Mediterranean coast of Spain. A house that three sisters in their thirties have decided to share as a summer home. This renovated holiday house is a deliberately ambiguous habitat, between inside and outside, openly diverse, as wide and sunny as intimate and shady; offering coves, topographies, loggias, and gardens, in a spatial continuum that intends to provide a landscape of vitality and delight.

There is a recurring idea that comes to us; Can a high-rise house, in a traditional block, have a large area in contact with nature, a garden? When creating it, should you move the day spaces away from the outside? In this house in the center of Murcia, we propose that the access would be that new exterior, like that garden area prior to entering a house on the outskirts. This led us to generate a new skin in the hall; her own, plastic and translucent that, like a “wormhole”, transports us to a new calm and peaceful dimension.

A Priorat appellation vintner needed a new winery in the heart of a village, Gratallops, for his increased production. The challenge was to allow the winery itself to contribute to the biodynamic winemaking process, striving to optimize the building’s behavior based on passive principles to the greatest possible extent.

Senior Cohousing / arqbag

The project proposes the rehabilitation of an agricultural warehouse, reprogrammed as a “senior” cohabitation. In order to accommodate two-family units in the same building, the lifestyle of each individual family was studied. This allowed us to plan and reorganize the spaces according to each use, specific to the degree of collectivization required at each moment. Individual, couple, collective, and even neighborhood spaces were incorporated.
