‘Timeless Value’ The place is located near Mt. Gwanggyo on the outskirts of Yongin City. Locational conditions and the system of ‘No Takeaway’ and ‘No Plug No Wi-fi’ may be inconvenient for customers. Nevertheless, we encourage customers to enjoy the analog time, away from digital for a while, for complete ‘resting’ and ‘relaxing’ in nature.
Sóc’s House was built on an area of 70 m2 in an alley view up to the mountain, located on Phan Chu Trinh street (also known as “Foreigner town”) around 600 m from the beach. The owner’s goal is to have a simple, discreet outside, but modern and fully functional inside space. The house also clearly shows the personality of the owner with a romantic space, filled with green trees and raw, rustic materials.
Inspired by the palm tree, the nature-centric apartment building in west LA provides a sense of nurture to the entire street in a post-pandemic age. It incorporates the local flora in unique ways including the site’s roughly 90-year-old sycamore, with a playful treehouse effect. The 15-unit structure, LEED Gold, heightens our awareness of nature’s interplay with the man-made that marks Los Angeles. It does so with a mix of natural and industrial materials: Corten steel, insulated glazing, board form concrete, salvaged wood, and palm trees on all floors.
GRANHAND is a fragrance brand that pursues comfort in daily life and studies related scents and products under the motto of “Daily fragrance”. Some say the perfumer composes fragrance as a composer builds a note. Deciding which material to choose and how to arrange resembles space design. The first word from GRANHAND was about the material, and the material was wood. Many terms are related to wood, in the language used in perfume. In the space where the wood was planned to be used we researched the wood’s various textures and the method of expression.
The house is located on the seam between the Mediterranean and the desert areas of Israel, facing downhill over a manmade grove. The design challenge was to deal with the hot climate while allowing them to feel the outdoors and keeping the privacy of the habitants.
The vision for this place was to create a new user experience and environment for working. With the concept of co-living, we create a model of micro-living where the business founder and digital nomad finds their own space for private living as well as places to work, share ideas, and gather around with others. Designed from the existing structural building, the main concept was composed using curved bamboo as a facade combined with coffee branches as a primary material that orchestrated as a focal point for the Clan Living.
Pick up the cadaver of the word c-o-m-p-l-e-x and drive it to the Austrian Alps. Tucked away on Lake Zell is a house to which that royal among the has-beens of buzzwords, depleted of meaning from years of overuse, might genuinely apply. The project’s starting point was formal and postmodern: Louis Kahn’s Trenton Bath House (NJ, 1955). Thus the house’s pyramid hip roof sits on a square base. Thus the distribution of the ground floor. Thus the courtyard takes its cue from the opening in Kahn’s roof.
Nova is a 21st-century nursery, it is a unique project integrating from its conception the Playful Roaming pedagogy developed by the specialist in early childhood, Laurence Rameau. The concept is based on «the roaming ribbon», it brings together 3 main principles: the free movement of children in the nursery, the creation of playful universes, and the fact that the child is the author of his game.
Café 128 CT (Comfort Town – the name of the residential complex) is the first establishment of a coffee shop chain with the same name, located on the left bank of Kyiv. The total area of the café is about 110 square meters. Before the start of construction work, we dismantled the partition between the two commercial slots and got a rather long facade, enriched with tall windows that let in the warm western sunlight. It suggested decisions about textures and materials. Thus, in this project appeared: ceramic blocks, clinker brick, ceramic sconces used in hot baths, sand plaster, warm-colored plywood, and natural sand-colored linoleum, which was supposed to reduce the echo and preserve the warmth of the space
The project turns an 80 sqm ex-council house into a home with a distinctive character, now proud to tell its story through space, light and materials. The tight budget constraints and the old building’s unappealing character were seen as catalysts for practical, creative solutions.
