The « Dubarry » office block, located in the Cartoucherie development, is set on the northwestern edge of the site along a taut curve that accompanies and draws the pedestrian’s gaze towards the entrance of the plot. The project opens up to the south onto the pedestrian alleyway, creating a large landscaped inner-court garden in continuity with block 1.3 (also built by TAA). The project composes a balanced yet varying skyline whilst creating transparency between the surrounding streets and the landscaped inner-court garden.

Weary from years of two-hour work commutes, our client engaged us to develop a new residence within a mile of their Southern California manufacturing company’s facility and offices. Interested in maintaining a similar connection to the land as their current residence, an undeveloped rugged sandstone terrain, bisected by a dry river, and dotted with native yucca, oak, sagebrush, and beavertail cactus, was selected as the site for the new home.

Perched on a prominent clifftop bordering Bermagui’s famed Blue Pools, Bermagui Beach House is a sensitive reimagining of a treasured holiday home. Beloved by the family for decades, the existing weatherboard shack was relocated down the road to make way for the next chapter. We designed a new home drawing on the clients’ long-held connection to the place while refining the informal character of the classic Australian beach house.

Perennial House / Sifti Design Studio

March 27, 2023 Elisabeth Kostina 0

Set in a typical residential plotted development in the peripheral urban fabric of Amritsar, Perennial House is built in strong contradiction to its neighborhood dwellings. Within a linear site of 26’ x 62’, surrounded by plots on three sides, and facing the road on the south, specific attention to tackling the extreme climate of the region, as well as building a strong architectural vocabulary is given. Taking cues from the client’s desire for an abode of relaxation, and a love for gardens, trees, and pets, the spaces are planned to look inwards to a green open-to-sky courtyard that runs deep inside the house. The spaces flow between one another, exuding a sense of openness while retaining their functionality.

On a plot of land with an area of 5x25m, Cherry homestay is a project with a breath of nature integrated into a unique contemporary architectural style. The work is a combination of many different styles, lines, and shapes and does not follow any rules. The building has an architectural shape with strong lines, combined with the V-pillar system becoming the highlight of the facade, interwoven with the traditional tile roof system of Hoi An and the soft spiral staircase commercial. Strong shapes and soft curves create balance and harmony in the overall look of the building.

On a 991 square meter plot on the shores of the Lac de Joux, architect Ralph Germann created this residential project for a two-person household. The main wish of his clients was that all the main rooms should face the lake without any supporting pillars so that they could enjoy the panoramic view of the lake, which was a feat of engineering.
