Located on the first floor of the restaurant Brassa de Mar, the essential meaning of the project comes from a desire to emphatize the gastronomic values of the founders: "there is no modernity without a good tradition. Our aim was to lead the restaurant towards a transition into a more rational and simple project, as naked as the material itself or the main ingredient of its recipe book that is rice.

Malmö Saluhall / Wingårdh Arkitektkontor AB

The old freight depot west of Malmö Central Station was no more than a roofless shell when two siblings, Nina Totté Karyd and Martin Karyd, bought it in order to create a market hall. In 2013 Wingårdh Architects was commissioned to transform the ruin into a market hall for about twenty vendors and restaurateurs. The initial intention was to add a similar volume onto the existing oblong brick building, but the plans changed when several layers of underground utilities were discovered on the site, reducing the buildable area of the lot.

Arctic TreeHouse Hotel / Studio Puisto

The Arctic TreeHouse Hotel project started with a concept design that was developed i close cooperation with the client. The inspiration for the accommodation concept — set o a steep natural slope — came from Nordic nature and culture. A vision started to form: small individual accommodation buildings set in nature, their spirit highlightin characteristics of the area and creating an optimal setting for experiencing both nature a arctic mysticism.

TETOTE NOTE / Yoshihiro Kato Atelier

The square and pure white building located on a 100 square meter site is called TETOTE NOTE. TETOTE means handshake in Japanese, and it signifies the collaboration among the designers, the clients, and those involved in creating. The first to fifth floors are used as an in-house studio, and the simple arrangement of oblong circular windows in the flat outer surface is impressive.
