Sharma Springs was designed for the Sharma family as a jungle fantasy escape. It is a 6-level, 4-bedroom 750sqm home overlooking the Ayung river valley, built almost entirely of bamboo. The entry to the house is via a dramatic tunnel-bridge that brings you directly to the open-air living, dining, and kitchen spaces on the 4th level.

Chupei Reception Center / CYS.ASDO

This real estate reception center, located in the Chupei District, combines an inviting outdoor experience with a functional interior. With a setback strategy design, the surrounding nature is revealed, filtered, and extended to every corner of the reception center. The layers allow a fresh breath of sun and greenery to enter the structure.

Danish architecture and design practices CEBRA and Glifberg+Lykke have designed a multi park and cultural centre for street sports on the harbour front of Haderslev in southern Denmark. StreetDome is a vast and unique urban landscape for activity and recreation including a 4.500 square metre skate park, facilities street basket, parkour, boulder climbing, canoe polo etc.

S-House / Yuusuke Karasawa Architects

The project is a small house built in a residential area near Omiya station in Saitama. Two 50m2 floors are cross over in two levels on a site that measures around 100 m2. Each level is quartered, two opposing floors of which are elevated. The eaves surrounded at the middle of the ceiling height of the other two floors intertwine with the elevated floors, creating a space characterized by a complex network. The elevated floors of the two levels continue to a diagonal wall, as well as to the floors above.

Angdong Hospital Project / Rural Urban Framework

Rural healthcare in China currently faces a multitude of challenges. Rural institutions are generally unfavourable compared to those in urban locales. Government subsidies and the raising of doctor and hospital incomes also lead to overcharging and needless treatments and exams. Commissioned by a Hong Kong charity, Institute for Integrated Rural Development, this project involves designing China’s first charitable hospital whilst helping foster a new attitude toward rural healthcare.

The Pinch Library And Community Center / John Lin + Olivier Ottevaere

THE PINCH is a library and community center in Shuanghe Village, Yunnan Province, China. The project is part of a government led reconstruction effort after an earthquake in Sept 2012. The majority of village houses were destroyed, leaving the residents living in tents for up to one year. After the earthquake the government has sponsored new concrete and brick houses and a large central plaza. During the first site visit, the houses remained incomplete and the plaza was a large empty site.
