Next to the Blue Church / Kilo / Honc

June 16, 2021 Andreas Luco 0

The apartment Next to The Blue Church is a kind of weekend loft close to the historical center of Bratislava. In its original state, it was rather a larger and rigid “cell” with hidden potential and a beautiful view of the Art Nouveau monument called “The Blue Church”. We were not looking for a design or a careful and meticulous craft for this apartment, it was not important for us, because it would not give you that experience of well-being. For us, it was mainly about views, openings, atmospheres, location, the play of light and shadow.

March 13, 2021 Andreas Luco 0

Located in Toronto’s King West neighbourhood, SOCA was asked to redesign a two-level loft space for a young professional seeking to create two new bedrooms and an additional washroom from a previously open floor plan with no partition walls. The client sought greater functionality and flexibility to accommodate their evolving future needs while maintaining the spacious atmosphere of the open plan. Loft Chartier is a small well-located apartment. It is designed to host a young couple during weekends, so its main purporse is to be as practical as beautiful. The apartment itself has some qualities, like a corner window and a concrete slab. So, those were importante tools to compose the interior design. In order to contrast to the brutalist aspect of the apartament, we design a wood ceilling in the main entrance. So, this element also appear as a wall pannel which hides a door.

RCB Loft / Ápiron

November 29, 2020 Valeria Silva 0

The Loft RCB, arises from the need of a young client who was looking for a new space to live. The land was the first starting point for the design of the house, a rectangular land measuring 11.00 by 20.00 meters with a front facing north. With limited space to work, it is proposed to create a first courtyard, to which the spaces on the ground floor and the second floor would be articulated, so that all the elements of our architectural program can enjoy this small green space, providing them with cross ventilation and natural light, with the help of a second backyard.

His Loft / Kevin Veenhuizen Architects

October 30, 2020 Pilar Caballero 0

His loft is designed in the Top-Up building in Amsterdam-Noord. The beautiful casco, built according to the ‘’open building’’ idea, immediately called for a specific atmosphere. The simplicity of the available materials – concrete slabs and ceiling held together by massive timber columns – and the glazed facade brought up the strong spatial concept of the loft.

An old printing office, in Avenidas Novas, Lisbon, has been transformed into a loft due to a total renovation, illustrating how carefully designed spatial aesthetic solutions can dignify a prior decaying and gloomy space. Vacant for the last 15 years, the space, although with remarkably high ceilings, had lack of natural lighting and ventilation, being this one of the major architectural modifications needed to infuse brightness and intensity into the loft.

Hayloft / loft buro

September 3, 2020 Andreas Luco 0

Hayloft is not only a dwelling. It’s a cocktail restaurant, experimental kitchen, bar counter, exposition, showroom, DJ place, and a friendly atmosphere both for kin and a great many friends. Hayloft space was found as a derelict commercial uninhabitable building, with a potential for creating a truly exciting loft.
