On the high streets of Indian cities, retail showrooms often compete for attention with gleaming chandeliers, advertisement boards, and ornate façades. Fluted Volume, the 7,000 sq. ft. headquarters for a jewellery brand in Vijayawada, takes a radically different stance. Designed by Vineet Vora and Prachi Parekh of Studio Urban Form + Objects, the building asserts itself as a terracotta-hued monolith: at once sculptural, reticent, and quietly authoritative amid the cityscape. Its form emerges from a paradox that lies at the heart of the brief: how to create a building that must be visible to the public, invite footfall, and embody the brand’s identity.

Cameras and photographic lenses take centre stage in this minimalist showroom that Chinese firm Onoaa Studio has created for manufacturer Sigma in Shanghai. Onoaa Studio wanted the 500-square-metre showroom to embody the heritage of Sigma, which has been producing photography equipment out of its factory in the scenic mountain city of Aizuwakamatsu, Japan, since 1973.

Camellia is a residential and commercial complex of 6 houses with 2 bedrooms and a commercial area. On a 600 sqm plot located north of the central area of the city of Villa Allende. In a urban environment in constant renovation and mostly residential, its location is privileged due to its proximity to service infrastructure and shops in the city. The housing units have 65 sqm and are developed on two floors, on the upper floor the private area with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom, and the ground floor contains the social area, kitchen, living room, toilet and expansion to the front and rear courtyards.
