italian studio architrend architecture has completed house B in the seaside town of st. julian’s, malta, in the place of a terrace house which was demolished and reconstructed to fit the needs of the clients. the residence is built out of reinforced concrete, while its front elevation incorporates a glazed façade which allows it to stand out from the traditional buildings that surround it.

architrend‘s choice of a glazed façade for the main elevation creates a fresh atmosphere in the interior, and gives the house a unique identity within the neighborhood’s streescape. the see-through quality is further enhanced in the swimming pool on the residence’s rooftop, which comprises a glass bottom and walls. finished with a wooden deck, the roof terrace offers panoramic views of the maltese coast.
the interior spaces of the house are characterized by plenty of natural light and a linear scale that connects the different areas. a double height entrance lobby faces the fully glazed patio, enhancing the interaction between the inside and the garden.
