Elegant home interiors don’t have to be stiff and stuffy. Elegance can be combined with a fresh modern flavour to present a place that is full of personality. Take these three interiors for example; they are infused with chic elegance and sophistication but each have their own contemporary twist. Home design number one takes us on a journey of sumptuous texture, curves and carefully placed colour tones. Interior number two is a much brighter affair, with high contrast hues, chunky gold accent pieces, decadent lighting and eye-catching art. Our final visit is to a calm and coordinated dwelling where we meet quirky details and unusual paint techniques. Which design would you choose?

Lilac and blue accent pieces accumulate the perfect amount of powdery tones inside home design number one; just enough to add personality without changing the calm energy of the place. A couple of wall sconces by the mantlepiece add a cosy glow to the cool toned room.
More ambient light is added via bookcases in a couple of alcoves opposite the curvaceous sofa.
The marble fireplace has a classic elegance and a modern profile.
Mini pendant lights make a sculptural grouping over the centre of the dining table behind the sofa.
Ridged coffee tables and the gold wirework arms of an accent chair score texture into the smooth surrounds.
Luxurious drapes hang heavily at tall windows.
A look of deep cosy comfort is evoked by a cushion back sofa in the lounge.
The marble fireplace is matched by a marble dining table.
A metallic decorative vase shines on the kitchen bench behind the dining area.
Powder blue softly colours the lounge rug, defining the area from the rest of the open plan space.
Blue and monochrome modern dining chairs encircle the round marble dining table.
A glass vase provides the centrepiece.
Herringbone wood effect flooring covers the full length of the room, including the kitchen.
Marble effect cabinet doors provide the backdrop for a minimalist kitchen design. A halo pendant light shines over a kitchen island with cooker hob.
The hallway is a much bolder affair, with walls coloured rich purple and a confetti patterned floor. A modern chandelier sparkles overhead.
A blue bench seat, plus red and gold accent pieces provide more colour play.

Our second home is located in Moscow, Russia, with an area of 110 square metres.
We find another confetti pattern floor here, this time in the main living room. The pattern brings together the yellow and grey tones in the room.
A bright blue sofa is the star of the show, with golden yellow scatter cushions. Purple armchairs make contrast.
The bold colour teamed with glossy materials, marble, gold, brass, plus individual elements of decor make this interior especially individual.
Dining chairs and benches are upholstered in various materials to add pop and personality.
A walk-in closet is accessed off the hallway.
The blue and yellow colour scheme flows into the bedroom.
Monochrome curtains dominate the window wall.
Modern art picks out the the colour of a blue fabric bed.
A modern lighting scheme creates calming ambience in the bedroom retreat.
Sculptural art colours a wall in liquid blue.
Behind the art wall there lies a second walk-in wardrobe. A comprehensive closet system keeps garments neat and accessible.
Two accessory cabinets occupy the other side of the closet.

Out final tour is around a home that at first glimpse appears peaceful and even quite tame, but surprises await.
Gold accent furniture gives the neutral space a precious high-end look. The tones also help to visually warm the pale scheme. An Eames bird and a monochrome houndstooth fabric armchair add high-fashion flair.
Behind the lounge, a dining area has received an unusual paint effect panel over wainscotting.
A blush section overlaps the traditional wall panelling to give it contemporary edge. An ombre effect curtain is tipped in teal.
Rose glass pendant lights pull the blush tone further into the dining room arrangement.
A sculptural bust blows blush bubblegum to match the blown glass light shades.
Black kitchen bar stools look sharp against a white marble kitchen.
In the master bedroom we find a repeat of the modern pastel painted section across classic wall panelling. Blush coloured shelving creates a pretty display by a set of white wardrobes. Attached to the side of the units, the swing arm wall lamp
is a Serge Mouille. A grey ridged panel textures the wall above the headboard.
There is a glass wall ensuite adjoined to the master bedroom, which puts a luxury freestanding bath on display to the sleep space. A sleek black floating wall shelf is mounted to the wall opposite the foot of the bed, displaying a minimalist botanical arrangement. A matching black bed runner cuts across the pale duvet cover.
The blush colour scheme continues inside the luxury ensuite bathroom, in wall paintwork and vanity unit storage shelves. The pink tone softens the rest of the monochrome scheme with its heavy black bathroom furniture.
The home is blessed with a dedicated dressing room, which includes glass fronted closets and a dressing table by the window. A green chair faces the vanity unit and the green view through the glass. An upholstered bench is set in the centre of the room to assist with dressing.
